YOGA FOR EVERY 'BODY'
OUR YOGA STYLES
A dynamic style that links breath and movement through a creative series of postures that balance strength and flexibility. Each class is varied as we guide you through diverse and inspired sequences, allowing the teacher’s individual style to shine through. We maintain focus on alignment and awareness of the breath leaving you feeling recharged and invigorated.
Our classes are based on the following formula: relaxation / breath work, warm-up sequence, dynamic standing sequence, wind-down sequence and finishing with a well-deserved final relaxation, Savasana.
These classes are suitable for all levels of experience, strength and flexibility as variations and modifications of the poses are offered in each class. Honor yourself by making it onto the mat – you’ll walk out of each class feeling happier, healthier and a more mindful human being.
These classes break down the fundamentals of yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breath work), and explore the benefits of nidra (relaxation and meditation). We will guide you through a series of postures, providing clear instruction and individual assistance so that you build a solid foundation for a strong practice. We focus on postural alignment, giving you a little more time in postures to master the basics.
Classes are layered to encourage your development and boost your confidence to try other yoga styles at the studio. This class is geared towards beginners, the returning student, individuals healing from injuries, and those seeking to deepen their knowledge and fine-tune their practice. Connect with your mind, body and breath and evolve at your own pace.
YOGA TUNE UP®
Yoga Tune Up® classes focus on eradicating pain, improving posture and enhancing performance by locating your body’s blind spots that are catalysts for injury and discomfort. We use YTU® therapy balls and myofascial release techniques to roll out and release muscles and the surrounding connective tissue in an effort to calm the nervous system, reduce tension, eliminate pain, increase mobility, and bring balance back to the body.
Classes are concentrated to delve deep into specific areas of the body such as core, hips, back, neck and shoulders. These classes are ideal for anyone who wants to rejuvenate their body from stress and pain. Whether you sit at a desk or are an athlete experiencing fatigue, you’re sure to feel the tune-up difference! The best thing about YTU® is the ability to educate yourself on how to heal your body and prevent injury.
Meditation is a simple, yet highly effective practice to release stress and cultivate a sense of calmness in your day-to-day life. In this seated 20-minute practice, we focus on using awareness of the breath and the body to ground you in the present moment, resulting in improved focus, clarity of mind and productivity. This class is suitable for beginners and established meditators of all ages.
Yin is a deeply meditative and therapeutic class. This practice focuses on softening and surrendering to gravity. Floor postures are held for longer periods of time (4-6 minutes) in an effort to target the fascia and connective tissue allowing deeper opening of the body. Physically, Yin Yoga maintains and restores the natural mobility of the joints. Energetically, Yin opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional balance, calmness and quiet in the mind. Yin Yoga is great for all levels and is a complementary practice to the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles. It’s the perfect class to de-stress and nurture your body, mind and soul.
Take your yoga from earth to air! Uniting elements of vinyasa, inversion training and acroyoga, this practice cultivates trust and community. Inspired by traditional yoga asanas and L-based acrobatic flying, classes include a solo vinyasa warm up, partner inversion practice and acroyoga.
The element of inversion training will be broken down into a workshop style class to allow you to ask questions and progress your inversion practice. We will delve into crow, headstand, tripod headstand, forearm-stand, handstand and other awesome variations.
The acroyoga component combines three key roles – the base (supports the flyer), the flyer (moves through the air in a series of yoga postures) and the spotter (who makes sure both base and flyer remain safe and properly aligned). You will get the chance to rotate through all three roles.
This class focuses on building strength, finding balance and offers a dynamic expansion beyond your solo practice. This is a LEVEL 1 ACROVINYASA™ class and suitable for those with a beginner to intermediate practice. No partner necessary; just be ready to play and challenge yourself in a whole different way. *Please note that this workshop style class is only scheduled on the first Sunday of each month.
This class is an opportunity for students of all levels to drop into a deeper understanding of how to support their centre! Expect to spend time unlocking movement of the hips, pelvis and spine and learn how to activate the core from the most superficial to the most subtle layers.
A mixture of Yin poses and more dynamic mobilizing and strengthening postures will be explored. This is an all levels class that will support students with low back pain all the way through to people wanting to develop a more engaged core and increase awareness of the bandhas needed to advance the physical yoga practice.
