Dustin is the visionary and founder behind Warrior One Yoga. He grew up in Kauai, Hawaii and after travelling the world as a professional surfer he settled in Melbourne with his wife, Nova. Dustin is a qualified yoga teacher of Vinyasa flow, Hatha, Yin, Acrovinyasa® and Yoga Tune Up®. As a professional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt athlete training, coaching and competing within Australia and Internationally, Dustin brings his martial arts and surfing background to his yoga practice. Through his dedication to his daily personal yoga practice, Dustin has found strength, flexibility, increased recovery, body awareness and an overall balanced lifestyle. Anticipate an uplifting, challenging and unique lightness and calming energy with his classes.
FOUNDER + YOGA TEACHER
Our in-house Yoga Advisor Nova will help you get the most out of your sessions at Warrior One. Her role is to help you become familiar with the studio and be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding your introduction to yoga, your personal practice, classes, injuries or illness. She can recommend teachers and classes that will complement your individual goals and needs. Nova will be in touch with you directly to help you get started, find out how your practice is progressing and to offer suggestions and tips that will make your experience even better!
Ninja is a 6 year-old yogi and the brand ambassador at Warrior One. He is a friendly doorman and provides the downward dog difference at the studio. Ninja fills the studio with a powerfully warm presence and aims to truly enhance your practice. He is known to be a serious mood-booster; providing boundless amounts of tail-wagging, cheerful company and just generally spreading the good vibes! Ninja’s role is to help out around the studio, welcome members and provide cuddles (and the occasional lick). Be sure to ask him for a high five or even his special trick… roll to savasana!
Chris’s love and passion for Yoga seeps through the seems of his life, extending from each class he teaches, to each moment he spends on his mat exploring and discovering the depths of what a Yogic practice and lifestyle has to offer.”I enjoy teaching a well rounded, holistic practice, that is directed to meet you right where you are, rekindling the body, mind, spirit connection and facilitating an opening into a sense of greater freedom.”Chris’s love and Joy for Yoga has led him for many years into different styles and depths. He has studied and taught internationally, from the United States, Australia, India, and Thailand, which has inspired him to bring an awareness into practice ranging from yoga therapy, advanced asana, to traditional yogic cleansing techniques in order to fully teach and facilitate a peaceful, authentic Yogic practice.
Monica teaches dynamic classes that are grounded in traditional lineages of yoga and spun together with a creative twist. She has studied yoga, meditation and Ayurveda in the USA, India and Australia and continues to enrich her teachings with personal practice and study. Monica has a great understanding of the body and shares anatomical keys with her students to unlock movement patterns and to reclaim balance. She emphasises alignment and awareness of breath as she guides her students into a deeper state of connection to the body and a simultaneous detachment from the fluctuations of the mind.
Yoga for Nerri is all about connection to the breath, the body, the mind and to each other. She believes that with self-awareness and observation, we can move from a more authentic, intuitive place. What we can practice and learn in our bodies each day on the mat, we can take into our lives and relationships with others and our communities.Nerri was initially drawn to yoga through Bikram in Melbourne and after travelling through Europe practicing this style knew she wanted to immerse further. She then returned to Melbourne and discovered Barkan, Power and Vinyasa styles and has maintained a regular practice since.Nerri is humbled to share her yoga with others and in her classes she aims to provide a playful and safe environment for physical and mental exploration.
Emma is passionate about health and wellbeing and living an authentic, connected life. She has practiced yoga since she was a teenager, however it was in her early 20’s that she formed a deep connection with the practice during a period of severe sickness. Yoga and Meditation were her shining lights, providing the healing she needed for her body and mind.She is a dedicated student and devoted teacher. Emma’s classes are energetic and dynamic whilst being grounded in mindful-movement. Her classes see students moving in new ways and learning to connect and listen to their bodies. Emma aims to empower her students to take the calm, mindfulness they gain from a yoga class off the mat and into daily life.
A gentle curiosity is what led Katie to the yoga mat. An elite gymnast at a very young age, her passion for the physical sensations and desire to be challenged is what inspires her. The union of the mind, body and breath captivated Katie, and after years of practicing yoga she embarked on her own sacred journey and completed her first teacher training. Katie’s classes are dynamic, creative and flowing; always revolving around quieting the mind, listening to your body and getting to know what feels right for you and your body. With the goal of experiencing an overall physical strengthening of the entire body and a life long journey into the meditative mind.
Emily’s love for yoga began over a decade ago. The effects of the practice had a significant change to her lifestyle and outlook. Emily has undertaken multiple teacher trainings, workshops and courses on yoga and meditation, diving deep into the practices and philosophical studies. Integrating traditional hatha yoga and modern vinyasa, Emily’s classes are the complete practice combining asana, pranayama and meditation. Dynamic physical postures are used to shift energy and stabilise the ever-busy mind to prepare for pranayama and meditation. Coming from a Remedial Massage background, she uses clear anatomical alignment cues to guide you safely into a posture and softly coaxes you into a deeper experience, encouraging students to focus on the breath and internalise their practice, ultimately to experience a deeper sense of self. Her classes are designed in a way to leave you feeling balanced and clear, ready to integrate yoga off the mat and into everyday life.
Jessie loves Yoga, she is addicted to Yoga Teacher Training and has so far completed seven different training’s throughout India, Thailand, Bali, New York, Los Angeles and Mexico.Jessie has a strong passion for Yoga and cannot wait to meet you on the mat to work with you and your specific needs in your practice.Join her in her challenging, progressive yet blissful classes!
Meg was first introduced to meditation at the tender age of four years old by her mother who was an early adopter. She returned to the practice in her teens to quell her anxious tendencies and has continued to meditate regularly ever since.
Meg’s meditation classes focus on using mindfulness techniques to connect students with the innate sense of calm within and cultivate a deeper sense of patience, acceptance and self-compassion. She challenges her students to overcome the perceived barriers of meditation and provides them with the skills to adopt a regular practice into everyday life.
She teaches weekly meditation classes in addition to facilitating regular courses, retreats and corporate workshops.
Prue is a Yoga Works trained Yogini who’s love of yoga and passion for teaching is evident in her classes. She brings a strong core focus, alignment and high energy to every class whilst weaving in yogic philosophy in an approachable way. Prue is trained in Powerflow, Yin, Body Rolling, Meditation, Restorative, Aerial and Prenatal Yoga.
Phoebe believes, to be at optimum health and free of pain and injury we need to learn how to listen to our body and work with it, not against it. With over 8 years’ experience she has expanded her skill set so that she can offer truly individual solutions and tailored classes. Through her combined skills – Yoga, Clinical Pilates, Musculoskeletal therapy and Dry Needling – she loves to look at the body from a holistic perspective.Phoebes classes will take you on a journey of self-inquiry; beginning with breath awareness and moving through a dynamic sequence to a sweet relaxing savasana and delicious shoulder or head massage. Bringing your awareness to breath anchoring you to the moment to truly be present so you can grow and explore your mind and physical body.
IRENE IZZY AIS
Irene Ais has spent 15 years exploring the ancient practice of yoga and takes her students on a journey to discover the power it has to transform lives. Irene’s mantra is founded on awareness – she believes our relationship with life transforms when we begin the journey of self discovery. Irene is passionate about helping students navigate physical poses whilst offering an invitation to drop into the energetic practice. The layers inherent in her teaching draw participants out of the thinking mind and present an experience of deeper self-awareness.Irene’s strong Hatha Yoga classes will challenge students to explore their edge and find the joy in movement, whilst she focuses on finding each practictioners’ unique alignment. Irene has been facilitating 200hr trainings for 3 years, regularly leads advanced teacher immersions and is the creator of the sold out
Erin lives life by her curiosity and tenacious trust in gut instinct, which makes her classes one of a kind every time you hit the mat. Her gentle nature can be deceiving when you find yourself challenged in her classes. Erin keeps it simple yet strong in her Vinyasa classes; and mellow and peaceful in her Yin and Meditation classes. She is passionate about learning tools to keep the mind healthy so the body follows.One thing you may not know about Erin is that she also works with colour using the UK born system called, Aura-Soma, connecting you with the subtle anatomy including the energy wheels (chakras), and deeper layers of the being. It is the students she meets on the Yoga mat that inspire and motivate her to continue on a path of self-love and growth. And it is her hope, through her own personal dedication, that she also inspires others.
Duncan has completed several trainings in Anusara, Ashtanga, Power, SmartFlow, Vinyasa, Hatha/Gentle Yoga and Restorative yoga. Duncan’s classes are a blend of rich alignment cues, creativity, fun, hardwork, and deep rest.
